.......... we see a stand of them in their full glory. Well we did! Sadly the oak is yet another specie that is not a native of
New Zealand and as this Reserve has been established as a native forest, along with the other non-native varieties
they had to be removed. Only one of the original oak remains but their removal has opened up space for more native plants.
